Andy Stewart

Guest Instructor

Former Senior National Team player (Pan Am games, Olympics), MLB player and Minor League coach, Andy Stewart will be working out of the Ontario Prospects Baseball Club hosting catching camps while also being available for private lessons.

Andy played as part of the 1988 Junior National Team, the 1997 Kansas City Royals, the 1999 Senior National Team (Pan AM games), coached in the professional ranks (Toronto and Pittsburgh) and then was part of the 2004 Olympic baseball team. Andy is also a local Durham boy and a member of the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame (Class of 2009). Andy was a catcher when he played but is most famous for his hitting prowess on the international stage: .452 avg at the Pan Am games, and .417 avg at the Olympics!  Andy will be available to work with all of our players as part of a group or for private lessons.

Todd Betts

Guest Instructor

Former Team Canada Olympian, professional baseball player and coach, Todd Betts will be working out of the Ontario Prospects Baseball Club hosting hitting camps while also being available for private lessons.

 

Todd was drafted in 1993 by the Cleveland Indians in the 14th round before spending over 20 years playing between MiLB, Japan, Taiwan, the Canadian Olympic Program and the IBL. While playing in the MiLB, he won several team MVP awards as well as 10 championships across 13 seasons. Todd has also coached with Team Canada and professionally in Taiwan as hitting coach for the Lamigo Monkeys of the CPBL.

Shaine O'Keefe

Head Coach 15u

Shaine is a former Ontario Prospects player (Class of 2019).  Shaine is currently a member of the Humber College (OCAA) baseball team  and is an amazing pitcher in his own right.  Shaine has previously held head coaching positions, leading our 2021 15U team throughout their off-season training and summer seasons.  Shaine will continue to work with our players at all levels during the 2021/2022 program.

Alik Derderian

Alik is a recent graduate from Seneca College with a diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services. She played 5 seasons (2015-2020) for the Seneca Sting Women’s Softball Team as well as 4 seasons for the East York Ladies Softball League and 1 season with the Mississauga McCallion Women’s Softball League. Alik will run our Softball Camps this summer in addition to acting as an assistant coach to our Prospects teams.

Head coach

Adam koffman

Adam played elite baseball for 12 years including 3 years playing for the Ontario Prospects. Adam played 1 season at Seneca College as a pitcher where he won the Rookie of the Year award. He has coached AAA and AA baseball for 6 years as part of the Leaside Baseball Association. During his tenor at LBA, Adam was the  head coach of the Leaside 13U AA team and the pitching coach of the Leaside 13U AAA team.

Trevor Cyr

Strength & Conditioning coach

Trevor Cyr is the owner and head coach at Take Control Training. He is also the performance coach for Edge Lacrosse and the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Green Gaels.  Trevor attended Seton Hill (NCAA D2) on a lacrosse scholarship, graduating in 2015.  He knows what it takes to make it as a collegiate athlete and has developed a world-class strength and conditioning program for our Ontario Prospects program.  Trevor works across all of our teams,   individually, in groups and remotely via the Train Heroic app.

Hunter greenough

Hunter is a former Ontario Prospects player (Class of 2014).  In 2015-2016, Hunter pitched in the CCCAA for Antelope Valley College (AVC) in Lancaster, California. He was named to the First Team All-Conference as Relief Pitcher where he was a league leader in strikeouts, innings pitched, and ERA. Hunter finished his college career pitching for the Point Loma Nazarene University Sea Lions (NCAA D2 - PacWest) in San Diego, where he later earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2018. Hunter will work as an Assistant coach across our Prospects teams, working with our pitchers at all age levels.
